TL;DR: Making a new game but the background sucks, looking for ideas for the background or just the game in general.

I'm working on a new game (screenshot below) and I wanted to share my progress. The goal is to release it on steam when it's fully done but I'm not 100% sure if I'll be able to do that. The screenshot below shows the first room I've created for the game. It's supposed to be a party with those hand guys, but I'm having problems with making the background look good. The background flickers between yellow and blue for the individual tiles, but It's a bit of an eye sore and looks bad. The goal for the game is a trippy 2D walking simulator game inspired by LSD dream emulator. My main problems with this area as of now are that it's a little too bright, cluttered, and empty. If anybody has any redesign ideas for this room, or ideas for other rooms, NPCs, and other features I would be happy to hear them.

ive been working on a show with a small group of like 5 people, episode 1 might be out sometime this year idk, it's osc related though so if you don't like that don't watch it anmd kill me or something idk

i think im gonna take a break from many social media platforms including newgrounds, dont expect a new gary comic next week

The resolution for Gary comic 19 is smaller than usual so I'll have to fix that for comics going forward. My previous software exported images at 2x the actual image width for some reason.

I'm learning adobe animate here is my progress so far. I might be able to make a full Gary animation if I just give myself enough time.

I think I'm going to be remaking almost all the icons for the Gary comics remade series, most of them suck.

I'm going to start numbering these posts now, I would show video footage of the game but I don't know how to have a video attached to a post. If somebody could help me with this then I would appreciate it very much.
